What is the difference between reserved seating and general admission?

A reserved seating show will allow you to purchase a specific assigned seat (or seats) for
that event.

A general admission show means that the floor will be open and there may or may not be seats depending on the event. Our elevated seating sections are usually available, however, seats are not assigned and are available on a first come/first served basis.

What time does my show start or end?

We generally do not know in advance when a show will begin or end. Door times are generally 1 hour to 1 ½ hours prior to the event. The ending time varies by show; you should check with security or the box office on the way in for information.

Trade shows generally do not open earlier than the posted event time.

Are cameras or video cameras allowed?

Mid Hudson Civic Center’s Camera Policy varies per event and the MHCC does not usually find out until the day of the show whether or not cameras will be permitted. Please call the MHCC box office 845.454.5800 on the day of the show to find out the policy for a particular event.

At some events, artists explicitly forbid fan photography. In these cases, cameras of any type may not be brought into the venue.

At other events, artists allow fan photography, allowing fans to bring cameras into the venue. In these instances, only simple, point-and-shoot, non-professional cameras will be permitted.

Event security reserves the right to deny camera use at any time before, during or after the
event and to prohibit the use of any camera that is deemed by event security and/or the Artist to
be unacceptable.

Under no circumstances are fans permitted to use video recording devices at Mid Hudson
Civic Center.

Do I need to purchase a ticket for my child?

For most shows, all patrons must have a ticket, regardless of age. For shows such as Sesame Street Live, children who have not yet turned one do not need a ticket for entrance.
Please call the MHCC box office for the promoter’s policy on a specific show.

How old do you have to be to enter the Mid Hudson Civic Center?

For most shows, patrons must be 16 years of age or older, unless accompanied by an adult.

How are those of legal drinking age identified?

Patrons who have provided a valid, U.S. approved form of ID will be braceleted. Alcohol will not be served to anyone who is not wearing the bracelet. Security personnel are also on the lookout for anyone who is in possession of an alcoholic drink and is not wearing the bracelet. The Civic Center staff reserves the right to deny alcohol to anyone that is intoxicated or poses a hazard to
public safety.

Is there parking onsite?

Yes. There are two parking facilities in the immediate vicinity of the Mid Hudson Civic Center owned and operated by the City of Poughkeepsie. Concert and other special event parking is usually $5.00 for the duration of the event, however, for trade shows and banquets, hourly rates may or may not apply at the City’s discretion.

How can I be sure that the tickets I have purchased are authentic?

We sell tickets here at the MHCC box office and through Ticketmaster outlets, charge-by-phone and The Mid Hudson Civic Center cannot guarantee that tickets purchased from any other source, such as, “the guy down the street” or any other third party broker will be authentic. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do if your tickets are not valid tickets. The Mid Hudson Civic Center does not work with other ticketing agents, except for those preapproved by the promoter (i.e. artists’ fan club.) Please avoid buying tickets through brokers or scalpers.

I want my band to open for the headliner, interview a band, provide photography, or review a show. Who do I need to speak with?

All interview and review requests must be made through the band's record label or publicity person. Please contact the specific band's label for information. Likewise, Mid Hudson Civic Center does not issue photo passes; you must contact the band's publicity personnel to gain such credentials.

I lost my cell phone / credit card /ID/ wallet / backpack / jacket / etc. at Mid Hudson Civic Center? What do I do?

I won tickets from a radio station. What do I need to know?

The radio station you won the tickets from will tell you whether they will send you the tickets, if you will need to pick them up from the station, or if they will be left for you at will call.
If you tickets are left at will call - The MHCC box office does not typically receive the list of winners until the day of the show. If you need to change the name of the person picking up the tickets, please contact the radio station directly. Once we have a list from a station, we cannot make any changes to it. You should contact the station well in advance of the show to see if they allow such changes to be made.

Ok, so what does “will call” mean?

Will call is the MHCC box office. Tickets that are on guest lists, radio station winners, or orders placed through Ticketmaster, but not mailed, are available at the box office on the day of the show. Sometimes these tickets are available just before doors on the day of the show. Please be sure to tell the box office staff what list (radio, Ticketmaster, fan club, etc.) your tickets are on and be prepared with you confirmation number (Ticketmaster) and photo ID.

Will the show be cancelled for bad weather?

purchase to obtain a refund.
