BREAKING BENJAMIN returns to Mid-Hudson Civic Center September 11th for WRRV 20th anniversary concert series

Poughkeepsie, NY, July 22, 2015  –  SLP Concerts, Magic City Productions and WRRV 96.9FM present BREAKING BENJAMIN at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie NY on Friday, September 11th, 2015 as part of the WRRV 20th anniversary concert series.

Six years have passed since BREAKING BENJAMIN released their last album—2009’s Dear Agony—but one listen to their new album, Dark Before Dawn, and it becomes clear that time away from the music world hasn’t caused them to lose a step. If anything, the sound is more invigorated and purposeful than ever. On the album with Burnley are guitarists Jasen Rauch (RED) and Keith Wallen (Adelitas Way), bassist Aaron Bruch and drummer Shaun Foist (Picture Me Broken). The result is simultaneously vintage and decisively more cohesive.

Over the past decade BREAKING BENJAMIN has achieved worldwide success through their chart-topping music, their electrifying live performances and in the process amassed a sizeable and diehard fan base (over 5.7 million likes on Facebook, 220,000+ followers on Twitter.) “The band has always really been about the fans to me,” says Burnley. “That’s who comes first to me, and that’s what it’s all about. There’s nothing that matters any more than that to me, and so I’m just happy I’m able to give them the best they can possibly get.”

BREAKING BENJAMIN’s discography includes “Saturate” [2002], “We Are Not Alone” [2004] with two No. 1 radio hits (“So Cold” and “Sooner Or Later”) and sold 2.3 million copies, ”Phobia” [2006] which debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top 200, hit No. 1 on the Rock Album Chart, was certified platinum and one of the top 50 selling rock albums of 2006, and “Dear Agony” [2009] which debuted #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and #1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart, featured one No. 1 and two Top 5 rock radio hits (“Breath,” “Diary of Jane” and “Until The End”) and sold 2.8 million copies. Dear Agony also spun off the platinum selling and #1 song Active Rock single “I Will Not Bow” where it stayed #1 for five weeks while the album itself was certified Gold. GODSMACK AND SEVENDUST TO PERFORM AT MID-HUDSON CIVIC CENTER OCTOBER 14TH FOR WRRV 20TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT SERIES

Poughkeepsie, NY, July 15, 2015  –  SLP Concerts, Magic City Productions and WRRV 96.9FM present GODSMACK with SEVENDUST at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie on October 14th, 2015 as part of the WRRV 20th anniversary concert series. Following a completely stacked spring and summer schedule, Grammy Award-nominated multi-platinum Boston hard rock juggernauts GODSMACK will hit the road with SEVENDUST supporting their chart-topping and critically-acclaimed 2014 offering “1000hp” out everywhere now on Republic Records.

GODSMACK is an American alternative metal band from Lawrence, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. To date, GODSMACK has released six studio albums, one EP, four DVDs, one compilation album, notched seven number one singles on both the Billboard Mainstream & Active Rock Chart, including "Awake", "Straight Out of Line", and "I Stand Alone". They've enjoyed 21 Top 10 hits at those formats, a record number of top ten singles by a rock artist and the most of any act since 1999, as well as four Grammy nominations and winning the Billboard Music Awards Rock Artist of the Year in 2001. Selling over 20 million records worldwide, the band has also unleashed three consecutive albums at #1 on the Billboard Top 200— “Faceless” [2003], “IV” [2006], and “The Oracle” [2010]. This places them in league with Van Halen, U2, Metallica, Dave Matthews Band, and Linkin Park who have also enjoyed the same streak. In honor of the band's success and the release of their sixth studio album, 1000hp, Mayor Marty Walsh has declared August 6 as "GODSMACK Day" in the city of Boston.

Hard rock stalwarts SEVENDUST have had three consecutive gold records, their self-titled 1997 debut, “Home” [1999] and “Animosity” [2001]. They've packed sold-out shows around the globe, and they elevated the likes of their eighth offering “Cold Day Memory” in 2010 to a career-high chart position of #12 on the Billboard Top 200. In the midst of supporting their ninth effort, 2013's “Black Out the Sun” which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Hard Music Albums chart and #18 of the Top 200 Albums chart, SEVENDUST completed a crowdfunding campaign that exceeded 155% percent of its goal within 60 days of a planned 130-day campaign.

GODSMACK lead vocalist Sully Erna comments “I haven’t been this excited about a tour like GODSMACK/SEVENDUST since we toured with Metallica. This is how concerts should be, two bands that love and complement each other the way fans want it! This will be a MUST SEE concert! Don’t Miss it!” Clint Lowery of SEVENDUST notes, “We have a lot of history with GODSMACK personally and musically and it’s going to be an incredible experience touring with them. We came up together on the music scene and it will be an honor to share the stage with them again and give fans their money’s worth. I can’t think of a better way or a better band to start this touring cycle with. Get ready!!”

Having their own personal connection to these iconic legends has allowed the producers to tell this story like no one else can. Sandy's Hackett's father, legendary comedian, Buddy Hackett was great friends with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Joey Bishop - and together, they all made history. Sandy Hackett was Joey Bishop's ("Uncle Joey's") only choice to portray him in any production involving the legendary Rat Pack. Only "Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack" can bring to life that magical moment in time that everyone wanted (and continues to want) access to. Producer, Lisa Dawn Miller, has her own personal connection to the Rat Pack. Her father, legendary songwriter Ron Miller, wrote "For Once In My Life" (recorded by every member of the Rat Pack) and many other huge hits. Together, Hackett and Miller have created a truly authentic, avant garde theatrical production based on the musical and comedic legacy of the Rat Pack, capturing the relationship, respect, love and timeless laughter of that once-in-a-lifetime moment in history. Hackett Miller, armed with their passion and the most extraordinary musical and creative team plus the comedic genius synonymous with the name Hackett, "Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack Show" is the most successful live theatrical production of its kind, touring throughout the U.S. in hundreds of performing arts theatres to great critical acclaim. Priding itself on its uniqueness and originality, this show makes you laugh, cry and leaves you wanting for more!

"'Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack Show' is different for two reasons. First: It is not just a revue; it's a musical with a narrative. Second: Its star actually grew up around Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Joey Bishop."
– YAKIMA HERALD

Now audiences can experience this critically acclaimed, hugely entertaining theatrical production which includes exciting new arrangements of classic songs and original, never-before-heard songs written by the late, best-selling songwriter, Ron Miller, along with recorded voiceovers made exclusively for this show by the late, comedic genius, Buddy Hackett.

MAGIC CITY PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS
LEE BRICE AT THE MID-HUDSON CIVIC CENTER, MAY 15th

Poughkeepsie, NY, March 27, 2015 – Magic City Productions welcomes country music artist Lee Brice and a special guest to be announced to the Mid-Hudson Civic Center on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 8:00 pm to celebrate the 25th anniversary of WRWD, Your Hudson Valley Country Station!

Lee Brice's 2014 Curb Records album I Don't Dance marked his first #1 Billboard Country debut and highest-ever bow on the Billboard 200, opening at #5. Along with the smash success of the album's title track - which reached #1 at country radio - the "evocative, rough-edged singer" (New York Times), whose music is "impossible to pigeonhole" (CMT), recorded his third studio album in Nashville, writing and producing 13 of the deluxe edition's 16 songs, and playing almost every instrument. "Nobody in Nashville writes better love songs right now than Brice," says USA Today.

Much of that praise is a testament to Brice's ability as both a songwriter - his "More Than A Memory" as recorded by Garth Brooks was the only song in Billboard's radio chart history to debut at #1 - and as an interpreter of songs, as his rendition of "I Drive Your Truck" won Song of the Year honors at both the ACM and CMA Awards. As a songwriter, Brice has also notched No. 1 honors (as well as an ACM Award for Song of the Year in 2011) with "Crazy Girl" for Eli Young Band, and as an artist with "A Woman Like You" and "Hard To Love," alongside "I Drive Your Truck."

Of 'I Don't Dance,' the New York Times says, "the songs are sturdy, the mood aching. That's a noble mode, and a lane Mr. Brice has almost wholly to himself in modern country."

For more on Lee, visit leebrice.com and follow him on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Ace Frehley Set to Perform at Sugar Loaf PAC!

Ace Frehley, the original guitar “spaceman” for legendary rockers KISS, will be performing live at Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center on November 14, 2014 at 8:00 pm.

Like a shooting star headed toward earth from another solar system, Ace Frehley operates in his own musical galaxy. He’s a musical maverick and iconoclast adored by millions of fans around the world. Through his seminal work with KISS and as a solo artist, Ace Frehley is championed as one of the most influential guitar players of the last four decades and his impact on popular music is immeasurable. With his smash 1978 solo album and post-KISS work including 2009 Anomaly, Frehley continues to be the best selling member of the original band.

More than four decades ago, Ace Frehley was rewarded with that life changing, big break that all aspiring musicians can only dream about. Answering a “Guitar Player Wanted” ad in New York’s Village Voice weekly newspaper, the struggling 22 year old musician showed up to an audition for a new hard rock band at a seedy downtown loft. Frehley dutifully blasted off some of his signature fiery licks, leaving proverbial jaws on the ground and reducing all other candidates to dust. Having “aced” his tryout, he joined forces with Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss, and KISS was born. Signed to fledgling new label Casablanca Records, KISS took the music world by storm. Wearing garish makeup and decked out in outrageous costumes, love them or hate them KISS was a band you would never forget. Borrowing elements of their look from shock rock master Alice Cooper and comic books, and horror films, the band’s glorious tsunami of sound drew sweaty inspiration from the best of Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rolling Stones and others.

As both a showman and musician, Frehley made an indelible impact on popular culture drawing critical and public accolades for his accomplished musicianship. Taking a break from KISS-mania, in September of ’78 the band members released four separate solo albums. Ace Frehley’s debut solo album was by far the runaway biggest seller, spawning the smash hit, “New York Groove.” The ramifications of his surprise success as a solo artist were far reaching as Ace explains: “The success of my ’78 solo album definitely planted the seed for my eventually leaving KISS to pursue a solo career. I felt I was more creative apart from the guys than with them. The success of my solo album opened my eyes and made me a little more cocky. It made me realize that I had the ability to do it on my own.”

The first fruits of Ace’s creative efforts came in 1987 with his new band, Frehley’s Comet and eponymous debut album, which yielded the FM radio hit, “Into the Night,” a track penned by Russ Ballard who also wrote Frehley’s signature ’78 smash “New York Groove”. From there, Frehley was on a roll, issuing a string of well received solo albums – Second Sighting, Live + One, and Trouble Walkin’ each demonstrating his spectacular six string abilities and immense gift for crafting imaginative and arena ready rockers was safely intact. “I have fond memories of the Frehley’s Comet days. That first lineup was great and it evolved over the years. We put out some good music and were a really good live band. It was a lot of fun playing with those guys. If I wouldn’t have run into trouble with drugs and alcohol I think the band would have gone a lot further. But we all have our demons and we deal with them in different ways.” Reuniting with KISS in 1996, Frehley teamed up with his old mates for a spectacularly successful five year run numbering sold out concerts around the globe and high profile appearances at the Super Bowl and the Olympics. Splitting from the group in 2001 after their “Farewell Tour”, Frehley needed to recharge his creative batteries and took a much needed sabbatical after decades in the rock and roll circus. Eight years later, to the eternal joy of his loyal fan base, in 2009 “Space Ace” returned to the music scene with his first new studio album in twenty years. A commercial and artistic triumph, Anomaly, proved to be his highest charting album since his classic 1978 solo debut. In 2011, he added yet another accolade to his mantel as a New York Times bestselling book author with No Regrets, a hard hitting and honest account of his tumultuous career.
Having battled substance abuse for decades, in 2014 Frehley is seven years clean and sober and is driven by a newfound commitment and focus to his artistry. On December 17, 2013 Ace and the original lineup of KISS was nominated into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in the 2014 class. Frehley recently made history with his new album Space Invader, which debuted at #9 on the Top 200 Chart in its week of release. The LP scored the highest charting position of ANY KISS solo album ever, and marks Frehley’s first return to the Top 10 since KISS’s 1998 Pyscho Circus reunion album. Internationally, Space Invader has debuted #1 on the Independent Chart and #16 on the Top 200 Chart in Canada, Top 40 in Switzerland and Sweden, and hit a historic benchmark for the first time ever as a solo artist in Germany.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, September 26 at 10:00 am at the Sugar Loaf PAC, the Mid-Hudson Civic Center box office, all Ticketmaster outlets, charge-by-phone 1-800-745-3000, and online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $37.00, $47.00, and $57.00, reserved seating.

RENT is an inspiring musical about friends and artists struggling with addiction, poverty, AIDS and most of all, love. Set in the East Village of New York City, RENT is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, RENT has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages. Based loosely on Puccini's La Bohème, Jonathan Larson's RENT follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. The physical and emotional complications of the disease pervade the lives of Roger, Mimi, Tom, and Angel. Maureen deals with her chronic infidelity through performance art; her partner, Joanne, wonders if their relationship is worth the trouble. Benny has sold out his bohemian ideals in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general. How these young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves, and conflicts provides the narrative thread to this groundbreaking musical.
Contains mature themes and strong language.

RENT is presented through Special Arrangement with Music Theatre International www.MTIShows.com

Mid-Hudson Civic Center to Purchase Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center in Orange County

New Shows Anticipated in Early Summer

(Poughkeepsie, N.Y. May 16, 2014) Mid-Hudson Civic Center, the non-profit organization that owns and operates Mair Hall and McCann Ice Arena in Poughkeepsie, and Ice Time Sports Arena in Newburgh, has signed an agreement to purchase the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center (SLPAC) effective May 16, 2014. Mid-Hudson Civic Center has simultaneously entered into a management contract to operate the facility until the formal closing, which is anticipated in late July/early August.

Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center, located in Chester, New York is owned and operated by Kings Theatre Company, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization incorporated in 1998. The center has a history of presenting a diverse and expansive range of programming including musicals, dance recitals, rock concerts, symphonies, dramas, and children’s shows. “We are extremely excited about acquiring the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center,” said David Wise, Board Chairman for the Civic Center. “It allows us to continue our mission of providing cultural and entertainment opportunities to the community while extending our reach into Orange County.”

SLPAC was designed and constructed in 1992 by Richard and Susan Logothetis and transferred to the non-profit Kings Theater Company in 2012. It boasts 8.8 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, parking for 900, and is comprised of five live performance venues. “This is a spectacular facility” said Paul Lloyd, President of the Civic Center. “For those who have never been to a show here, they are in for a real treat.”

The Main Theater has a seating capacity of 689 including the balcony and orchestra pit. The Pavilion provides seating for 262 and offers a wide variety of configurations for performances, corporate meetings and private parties. The Lawn – an outdoor amphitheater with its concrete stage pad and level grass lawn – can accommodate approximately 2,500 concert patrons. The outdoor Wharf Theater is SLPAC’s answer to Central Park and is used during the summer months to host children’s theater, Shakespeare festivals and theatrical productions. The final venue, The Gallery, is a second-floor lobby that is available to host small receptions, to provide additional rehearsal space and to exhibit the works of local artists.

Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center, which operated with a volunteer staff and Board of Trustees, established itself as one of the foremost performing arts venues in the Greater Hudson Valley. Their mission was to enrich the lives of the citizens of the Hudson Valley through the presentation of the finest local, national and international artistic performances and by providing education and community involvement programs that support, enhance and expand the appreciation for the arts. “After searching the capacity of government, foundations, private interests and educational institutions, we believe we have found the next steward of this incredible facility in the Mid-Hudson Civic Center,” said SLPAC Board of Directors President, Kevin G. Kern. The Kings Theater Company will remain committed to SLPAC and assist MHCC in fundraising, volunteer recruitment and community outreach.

SLPAC has recently hosted many name acts including Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes Suzanne Vega, The Greater New York Wind Symphony, The Golden Dragon Acrobats from China, Broadway Comes to SLPAC w/ Andrea McArdle and Hudson Valley Jazz Festival with Dave Liebman - to name a few. The new owners will immediately start preparing to attract new shows and anticipate being able to present events early this summer.

“This purchase will improve the quality of life in Sugar Loaf and ensure the long-term availability of art and musical performance for Orange County residents,” said Orange County Executive, Steve Neuhaus. “The Mid-Hudson Civic Center has a proven track record of success in Orange County with Newburgh’s Ice Time Sports Complex. Thanks to its partnership with the Performing Arts Center, Mid-Hudson Civic Center has saved a community treasure and will raise the curtain on exciting opportunities for local tourism and economic development.”
